poly forum 2011 - reflections 3 stepping out of your comfort zone

there was a point of time where i regretted enrolling into the polytechnic
i really did.
because if i had not done so, i would still be making merry with the gang on the PJ ship.
in other words, i would still be stuck in my comfort zone
however, reality sets in. as a result, i am forced to expand my area of comfort
which made me:
1) more empathetic
understanding of other feelings (:
2) thirst for knowledge
school is for learning, not for merry making (:
3) a thinker
still working on this area because it is still kinda slow (:
4) more selective
in terms of everything and everyone.
5) more bitchy
cheers to bitching sessions!
5) cherishing the good old friends than i ever ever did :D
i wouldnt be here if it wasnt for their continuous support

and yes.
it might seem a little brief, but i have changed a lot in 2 years.
i feel that i might have become a better person ready to face the many obstacles that i could encounter.
but i am not too sure if i could like myself if i were to meet another jesslyn yim :/

neverthless, poly is definitely the right-est choice i have made so far.

poly forum 2011 - reflections 2 dataplan

the thing about my pathetic phone and i is that we cant log onto to the WWW
yes. no wifi and no dataplan -.-
during these 2 weeks, i had to struggle to be the ignorant sp girl who has to listen and digest everything that was said
having said that,
1) i had to write information down on a piece of paper.
which is simply pathetic, because people just fished out their iphones to take down key notes of the interesting dialogue session that we were having.
some might argue that notebooks are still the safest choice when your phone gets kuku butttt....
2) there are information that i need instantaneously. there is the WWW and i do not have access to it. hence whenever, i had things that i couldnt comprehend a.k.a have yet heard of it in my entire life. i couldnt google it. which sucks, simply said that i have to ask for SOS. which is highly regarded as helpless, ignorant and simply kampong.
i remember there was this incident where they were talking about USA. the ulu parts to be specific where gunshots are heard every night. but i was just sitting there being the ignorant one digesting what they said. which is simply, SAD to realise that i have vast improvement to make in the areas of general knowledge.
disappointed to admit that i do not have ample opportunities to travel due to reasons such as MY PARENTS ARE TOO BUSY TO GO.
oh well, i guess i have to refer to lonelyplanet.com to gain more insights then.
my point is, i if i had access to the WWW i could easily obtain information that i wanted instead of stone-ing without any form of contribution.
